To acknowledge the talent and the creativity of daring filmmakers and shortfilm industry’s craftmen who give life to our event, it is with pride and recognition that REGARD –Saguenay International Short Film Festival and its generous partners provide, since 2008, numerous awards.

This 13th edition will see awarding the following prizes:

INTERNATIONAL GRAND PRIZE
$ 5 000 in cash offered by Promotion Saguenay
Highest distinction awarded by the professional jury to an international short film in the competition (excluding Canadian films). This prize recognizes the exceptional quality of one international film based on the creativity of the artistic approach, the pertinence of the subject and the originality of content and form.

NATIONAL GRAND PRIZE
$ 5 000 in cash offered by CTVglobemedia Bravo!FACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent)

Highest distinction awarded by the professional jury to the best Canadian short film in the competition. This award recognizes the exceptional quality of one Canadian film based on the creativity of the artistic approach, the pertinence of the subject and the originality of content and form.

PUBLIC’S PRIZE
$ 1 000 in cash offered by RIO TINTO Alcan

The Public Jury’s choice award. All Canadian and international films are eligible for this award, which spotlights the high quality of one particular film that made an impact on the imagination of our festival attendees.

BEST DIRECTOR AWARD
$ 1 000 offered by the ARRQ

This award is given to a film selected by the professional jury and recognizes the extraordinarily high quality of a Quebec short film in the competition, based on the excellence of the direction and cohesion between content and form.

BEST SCENARIO AWARD
$ 1 000 offered by the SARTEC

Awarded by the professional jury to the best French language Canadian short film. This award recognizes the exceptional qualities of a Canadian screenplay that has created a coherent universe distinguished by precise, original writing.

TOURNER À TOUT PRIX! PRIZE
$ 15 000 services offered by Spirafilm and $ 1 000 cash by Télé-Québec

This award is given to a film selected by the professional jury and recognizes the best “no-budget” Quebec short film by a director under 30 years of age, distinguished by its bold style and the director’s exceptional, innovative cinematic talent.
