New Broadcasting Platforms in Digital Cinema
Friday, March 13th at 10:30 AM, Café Cambio

Has short film found its place in the mass market? In an era where information is mass-marketed over the Internet, numerous film broadcasting platforms are continuing to be developed and, increasingly, perfected, a phenomenon that began almost ten years ago. At little or no cost, we now have access to films from across the globe. Of course, traditional cinemas and festivals will always exist to screen these films on-site, but now there also exists wide array of new and exciting digital broadcasting media like the Internet (online videos), cell phones (mobile television) and videos on demand (VOD). Several areas in this domain, such as piracy and digital rights management, remain undefined; regardless, these platforms offer extremely exciting new broadcasting and accessibility contexts for short film.

Some of our featured specialists include:

Simon Young, distributor, Short International (England)

Forum host:
Philippe Gajan, publisher, 24 images and programmer, Festival du nouveau cinéma
